Job Summary
We are looking for a sports enthusiast who is excited to immerse themselves in the world of sports trading. We pride ourselves in empowering each other to do our best work and as a sports trader, you will work in a fast-paced environment which will sharpen your sports knowledge. The UK based trading function will be fully responsible for the expert trading of the core non-US Sports, including Soccer, Tennis, European Basketball, Volleyball, Rugby Union, etc. We will also collaborate continuously with the trading team in Las Vegas, providing high levels of expert support for the traditional US sports.
As a Graduate Sports Trader, you will report directly into one of the Team Leaders, dependent on your sporting knowledge. You will be responsible for the trading of all sports that fall under the UK remit, whilst offering support to the US trading teams. You will have direct impact on revenue generation & profitability, a focus on in-depth analysis, collaboration with development teams, and working with senior management to develop internal systems, processes, and models.
Our shifts are flexible to suit regular sports fixtures and major competitions, so typically we are busiest during evenings and weekends. You\\\’ll have the opportunity to use your sports knowledge and maths skills whilst developing yourself and working towards an exciting career in the betting and gaming industry.
Responsibilities
- Leverage your expertise in sports to price all events & markets that fall under the UK remit, using our technology platform to make important trading decisions.
- Use your critical thinking skills to prioritize and resolve issues effectively and manage risk.
- Conduct analysis to help the business improve profitability, operational processes, & offering.
- Present to leadership analysis on identification & evaluation of trading opportunities, pricing & trading strategies, model development & customer profiling.
- Work with all members of the trading teams in both the UK & US, to assist the development of models, systems, and strategies to enhance the product & customer experience.
- An atmosphere to try new approaches and shape the strategic direction & the growth of the product.
- Assist with reporting requirements as directed by management team.
Qualifications
- Grade A or B in GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent qualification).
- Excellent sporting knowledge, combining their love of sport, with extremely strong numerical & analytical skills.
- Quick to learn new skills & systems with ability to react to change and embrace new trading models & technologies.
- Strongly motivated, to work individually or part of a team, without supervision and collaborative, able to build effective relationships with peers & management.
- Effective decision making, able to make quick & sound judgements under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills experienced in working in both Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Innovative & proactive mindset.
Additional Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or currently studying) in one of the following areas, or an equivalent technical field: Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science or Sports Science
Work Location
- This role is an office-based position, based out our office in Leeds, UK. We are not offering remote work options currently.
