Caerphilly County Borough Council Youth Service is expanding its targeted support for young people who may be experiencing a range of vulnerabilities, including those at risk of homelessness and becoming disengaged from education, employment or training.
As part of our Engagement and Progression Framework, you will work directly with young people aged 11 and over in a variety of youth work settings, including outreach provision, LGBT+ support groups and other community-based initiatives.
Your role will focus on building positive relationships, providing early intervention and helping young people access the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.
Working closely with schools, social services, housing and homelessness organisations, advocacy services and other key partners, you will play an important role in supporting young people to overcome challenges and increase their resilience.
You will contribute to both one-to-one and group-based interventions, delivering homelessness awareness, education and prevention activities, while helping young people develop the skills and confidence needed for independent futures.

- A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
For example Youth and Community Work, Community Development, Criminal Justice, Early Years, Education, Teaching, Social Work.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake duties in locations both in the borough and beyond, attend meetings and transport colleagues.
- Experience of supporting young people with a range of vulnerabilities and challenges that result in barriers to positively engaging in EET.

- This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants.

- Youth Worker posts which require Education Workforce Council registration: The Education (Wales) Act 2014 and the Education Workforce Council (Main Functions) (Wales) Regulations 2015 as amended, set out the requirement for qualified youth workers and qualified youth support workers to be registered in the category or categories of registration for the work the undertake.
Your employment will be subject to satisfactory documentary evidence of registration, and continuing registration, as a qualified youth worker or qualified youth support work.
