We are recruiting a Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Location: Woodfieldside, Blackwood
Team: Youth Offending Service

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization. The post will require the holder to work in partnership with the local statutory and voluntary sector services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill this permanent post to support the overall aim of the YOS in reducing offending by children.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly Youth Offending Service (YOS) on Statutory Court Orders and Out of Court Disposal cases.
  • Manage and provide services to children aged 10-17 years who are involved in offending or Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and work to prevent further offending or ASB incidents.
  • Engage with families and/or carers to address factors leading to offending.
  • Contribute to accurate and timely electronic records in accordance with the Youth Justice Board’s National Standards; IT skills are essential along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Social Work qualification or be due to qualify in 2025.
  • A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
  • A high standard of report and case recording skills.
  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families and carers.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
