We are recruiting a Senior Assistant Engineer (Drainage) at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday β Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Penallta
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Highways Engineering Team.
We pay an attractive salary of Β£37,938 β Β£40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The purpose of the role is to assist in the application of engineering skills and knowledge in the Drainage/Highway Drainage/Civil Design Section of the Engineering Projects Group in accordance with corporate and directorate/divisional policies and objectives, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
The post holder will assist with the compliance of legislative responsibilities, manage technical guidance, progress and task completion, staff development / training, budget / financial control, and efficient and effective use of available resources.
The successful applicant will also undertake the design, contract preparation, procurement, supervision of drainage improvements, non-routine maintenance schemes and other miscellaneous engineering design services.
For the role, we ask that you have:
A relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW). For example, HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Working knowledge of current health, safety and welfare codes and legislation.
Extensive relevant experience directly related to the job description since qualification.
A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit constructions sites, carry out surveys, site inspections, supervise work and attend meetings
