Senior Accountant (School Support)

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant (School Support) at Caerphilly County Borough Council. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide financial support across all the Authority\βs schools and Central Education. It includes supporting Headteachers & Governing Bodies in financial matters, assisting schools in deficit positions, preparing and delivering training, and line managing a support team.
Working Hours & Contract
Full Time, Fixed Term for 2 years β 37 hours per week.
Location
Penallta House.

Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will provide written reports and represent Senior Officers in various meetings, support key deadlines and service requirements, and manage a team to help schools, especially those in deficit.
Qualifications
- Relevant Level 4 financial qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4.
- Detailed knowledge of financial administration processes.
- Experience in preparing detailed budget calculations.
