We pay an attractive salary of £22,126.50 - £23,832.50 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This post attracts a market supplement of £3,551.00 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments. This market supplement will be pro rata'd according to the part time hours of this position. The South East Wales Emergency Duty Team is a small team that provides an emergency social work service out-of-hours to the five local authorities of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. We are an enthusiastic and dedicated team who strive to support adults, children and families who are facing crisis out of hours. We work very closely with partner agency such as Health, Housing and the police. The team responds to emergency situations that cannot wait until the next working day. These can include for example, child and adult safeguarding investigations, Mental Health Act assessments and act as Appropriate Adults for children. Caerphilly, as the lead authority, provides the service for the partner authorities from a centrally located office base. For the role, we ask that you have, We are legally required to ask you to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. Successful applicants are required to provide appropriate documentation such as a birth certificate, passport or work permit in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants. This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. Appointment to this post is subject to the successful candidate holding and maintaining registration with Social Care Wales as a Social Care Worker in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

• A Diploma/ Degree in Social Work or predecessor
• 3 years post qualifying experience of working in a Social Services department
• A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings., You must possess a, Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body)., You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body).

The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
