We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 30 hours per week.

Working Weeks TTO: 39.

Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term Until 31st August 2027.

Location: Hengoed Primary School SRB.

Responsibilities:
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach to working with children with ALN.
  • An understanding of the diverse needs associated with autism, including communication, sensory and social needs.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills when working with staff, families and external professionals.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to follow structured routines and individual support plans.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (e.g., NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants experience).
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills.
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
Desirable Experience:
  • Previous experience of working with children with additional learning needs.
