This is an exciting opportunity to manage Caerphilly Council's vehicle maintenance workshop. The role has overall responsibility for planning and managing the day-to-day maintenance of the Council's fleet of 550 vehicles, maintaining accurate records of all work completed including inspections, MOTs and defect rectification.
You will lead the workshop team to deliver a safe, efficient and fully compliant service, supporting front-line operations and maintaining high standards of performance and health and safety. The successful candidate will play a key role in the authority's ambitious vehicle replacement strategy, the transition to electric vehicles and moving the workshop to a purpose-built new facility.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Relevant Level 3 qualification
- Sound knowledge of vehicle technology and safety standards
- Ability to effectively communicate and give direction, guidance and leadership to others
- Extensive experience of managing HGV workshops
