We are recruiting a Director of Environment & Regulatory Services at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation. We pay an attractive salary of £101,443 - £112,480 and offer excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes.
We are seeking a Director to lead the delivery of the Council's Environment & Regulatory Service in terms of both strategy and management responsibility. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services within your portfolio area and support with the delivery of achieving the Council's strategic direction and objectives.
You will be the strategic lead for the following areas:
- Environmental Health
- Trading Standards
- Licensing
- Registrars
- Sport & Leisure
- Community Centres
- Green Spaces & Cemeteries
- Emergency Planning
- Community Safety
You will set, model, and embed a culture that reflects the organisation's values and behaviours, developing strong working relationships to overcome obstacles. Your leadership will support staff to deliver services that make a tangible difference to our customers.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A professional degree qualification in a relevant discipline.
- A post graduate management qualification, or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- Chartered Membership of a recognised relevant professional institution.
- Knowledge and understanding of the range of policy and operational issues confronting Environment and Regulatory services, and local government generally.
- Experience of Senior Management and Leadership.
