We are recruiting a Cook in Charge at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 35 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/ Part Time/Term Time Only
Location: Heolddu Comprehensive School
We pay an attractive salary of £22,463.48 – £24,367.66 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

This is a great opportunity where the successful candidate will provide an essential catering service within the school, however, you may be required to work at other locations within the Borough when necessary.
The role will require you to supervise others in the workplace whilst working to guidelines set out by Caerphilly Catering Services to ensure correct performance standards are achieved. The successful candidate will therefore need to possess excellent leadership skills.
The Cook in Charge role reports to and is supported by the Operations Supervisor or Manager where, as a team we work together to provide nutritious and healthy meals to the children of the Borough whilst observing all food hygiene and safety regulations.
For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A level 2 qualification in Food Safety
  • An understanding of the role to perform duties effectively and efficiently
  • The ability to exercise good judgement when dealing with issues that are of a sensitive nature.
