We are recruiting a Cook at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 14 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Part Time
Location: Browdawel Residential Home
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Older People Residential Services Team. We pay an attractive salary of £9,380 - £9,528 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out duties in a dignified / respectful manner. Experience of working in a care environment and knowledge of COSHH, Food Safety Act and Health and Safety would be beneficial although not essential. You must have knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care e.g. dignity, choice etc. adopt a person centred approach and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.
The role will include working weekends and bank holidays. There will be opportunities to work additional shifts.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- A Willingness to work towards QCF/NVQ level 2/3 in Catering, within specified timeframes (If not in receipt of).
- The ability to prepare a large quantity of meals in a professional catering environment, maintaining cleanliness and high standards of hygiene.
- Experience of working in a kitchen setting.
