We are recruiting a Caretaker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 6:30am‑9:30am and 3:00pm‑6:00pm.

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time.

Location: Cwmaber Junior School.

We pay an attractive salary of £21,749 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Federated Governing Body of Cwmaber Infants and Junior Schools is looking to appoint a caretaker based in the junior school, but also able to provide cover for the infants if required.

Responsibilities:
  • Be an experienced cleaner / caretaker or experienced within building maintenance with a range of practical skills.
  • Have good verbal communication skills when dealing with both children and adults.
  • Possess a firm understanding of health and safety procedures and issues.
Qualifications:
  • Cleaning and support services N/SVQ Level 1 or equivalent experience or qualification, or willingness to train to achieve these.
  • Handyperson experience.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and decorating repair procedures.
