We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team (on a Bank basis). The successful candidate will carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong general maintenance background, who are eager to contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.
Duties
- Minor repairs within the home as requested by residents and management, to include minor electrical, plumbing and joinery work, painting and decorating etc.
- Complete daily/weekly room checks within the home to ensure all services are working efficiently, reporting to management if any issues identified.
- Weekly testing of the fire alarm, checking all door closures etc. work as appropriate, together with fire drills for staff on a monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs, advising management as appropriate.
- Work closely with contractors when planned maintenance work is being undertaken, documenting actions and advising management.
Skills
- General maintenance knowledge/experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, joinery work etc., painting and decorating, making good any damage to walls/doors etc.
- Competent in the use of electrical power tools and hand tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Confident team player.
- Customer service skills to liaise professionally with internal departments or external service providers.
- This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Pay: From £12.60 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
