CAE is seeking an early career Project Manager to lead operations at our C-27J Flight Simulator Training Centre. In this pivotal role, you will oversee day-to-day training activities, ensure simulator availability and performance, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality training outcomes. The ideal candidate will also possess commercial awareness, with the ability to support the generation of quotes and manage the execution of small-scale projects, working under the guidance of the Program Manager to ensure alignment with broader program goals. This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, technical oversight, and project delivery in a high-impact aviation training environment.
The Training Centre Manager proactively leads and manages the integration of service delivery for their assigned platform(s) to meet the customer’s changing needs and ensuring adequate prioritisation, including leading the Integrated Platform Team (IPT).
With responsibility for the relationship with the Logistics Authority (O-4), the Training Centre Manager ensures proactive identification and communication of issues and risks to customer and CAE to ensure contracted outcomes are delivered in an effective and safe manner.
The role we are offering you:
- Customer liaison including onsite attendance at meetings and acting as the first point of contact for the Logistics Authority.
- Leading an IPT (Integrated Project Team) of projects, maintenance, training, engineering, and functional support staff, and the first point of escalation for issues within this team.
- Collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders within a matrixed organisation to ensure the compliant delivery of contract outcomes.
- Development and maintenance of the “source of truth” Annual Work Plan, delivery of recurring services and projects against this plan, communication and reporting of performance.
- Maintains and updates CAE’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for their assigned platforms.
- Support with opportunities for their platforms.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- Proven experience of front-line or operational leadership experience.
- Project Management qualification or equivalent work experience.
- Defence experience, preferably in Aviation.
- Experience with systems engineering and/or technology projects is desirable.
