Join CAE's Simulator Technician team based in Burgess Hill as a team leader simulator technician, working on the most advanced simulators in the world. Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centre, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise assigned teams to complete all tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
- Assist the Technical Services Manager in running simulator maintenance activities, specifically coordinating technical issues and addressing operational issues.
- Plan, coordinate and communicate workflow, setting priorities for snag clearance, QTG, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Work with the technical team to plan work on each device and conduct regular reviews with them on their assigned range of devices.
- Serve as the immediate point of contact to address customer queries and operational issues as they arise.
- Attend operational reviews with senior managers and customers.
- Assist and deputize for the Technical Services Manager as required, contributing to long‑term planning, process improvement, department development activities and performance appraisal management of the Technical Operations team.
- Ensure all work and general housekeeping tasks are completed.
Qualifications
- 5-6 years’ experience working as a simulator technician.
- Fluency in English.
- Technical degree.
- Team‑leader experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot to system level on at least multiple types of simulators.
- Proficiency in using all types of test equipment.
- Ability to use and interpret all diagnostics available on multiple types of simulators.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance, pre‑flight, and post‑flight checks on any simulator in the fleet.
- Ability to perform in‑depth visual adjustment and set‑ups on at least one type of visual system.
- Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
- Demonstrated ability as the Technical Expert on at least one major simulator system (e.g., motion, visual, aircraft systems).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
