About This Role

Main Purpose of Job:

Provide Engineering instruction in Mechanics to students at the RAF Lossiemouth P-8A (Poseidon) Strategic Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support to engineering course design and maintenance including provision of generic engineering training advice on course content and objectives;
  • Student mentoring;
  • Lesson preparation;
  • Instruction, delivering the content of LSPECs and ASPECs;
  • Post lesson activities;
  • Other Operation Conversion Unit (OCU) activities as required;
  • Any other duties as may be required.

Mechanical Instructors shall deliver the following engineering instruction:

  • The P-8A Q-course for engineers;
  • Courses for all users of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
  • A General Familiarisation Course/Platform Managers' Course for the P-8A Poseidon Aircraft and associated Systems;
  • Training on operation of the Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) to RAF personnel;
  • Engine Ground Run training comprising initial and recurrent training;
  • Other courses and ad hoc training as required.
