CAE is seeking a Part 21 Design Engineer to join our growing EASA Part 21J Design Department. The successful candidate will be part of a highly experienced engineering team supporting a broad client base of leasing companies and airlines. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, the Design Engineer will be responsible for producing EASA Part 21J design documents and ensuring compliance with applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure engineering documents comply with all applicable EASA airworthiness and environmental protection requirements.
  • Compile design documentation, including accomplishment instructions, engineering drawings, compliance reports, and instructions for continued airworthiness.
  • Liaise with Compliance Verification Engineers (CVEs) to support demonstration of compliance.
  • Manage design‑change projects from initiation through delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Sound working knowledge of Part 21 Design.
  • Knowledge of applicable EASA aviation regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve, exercising sound judgment and tolerance under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide engineering processes through successful completion.
  • Advanced skills with CAD tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other relevant proprietary software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Education/Experience: Technical Degree (B.Eng, B.Sc) or EASA Part 66 qualification / Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a Part 21J Design Organisation, Airline Technical Services, or a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.
  • Experience supporting leasing companies or airlines in engineering or technical services.
  • Experience producing EASA-approved design documents, including drawings, compliance reports, or ICA.
  • Familiarity with project management of design changes.
  • Experience liaising with Compliance Verification Engineers (CVEs).
  • Experience with demonstrating airworthiness and environmental protection compliance.
