Join our dynamic Bid team and be at the forefront of developing and refining persuasive, high-quality proposals for the UK and Europe that align with both customer and company requirements. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various teams, including engineering, sales, and project managers, to gather information, write compelling content, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards before bids are submitted.

Key Tasks

  • Understand the Requirements: Review the customer's Request for Proposal/Information material to grasp the bid-specific elements, including proposal deliverables, deadlines, response structure, and applicable conventions.
  • Set Up Documentation: Use our numbering system database, appropriate templates, or previous baselines to create the proposal outline/skeleton in collaboration with the proposal writer.
  • Provide Counsel: Offer guidance on the structure, design, and layout of response documents/templates.
  • Format Documentation: Ensure all proposal documentation adheres to corporate/department-approved standards and styles.
  • Edit Complex Documentation: Maintain consistency, clarity, and tone in the overall deliverable package, ensuring proper grammar, flow, readability, and accuracy.
  • Consult and Update: Maintain the writing assignments document and follow up on outstanding input when required.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Coordinate with internal and external parties involved in each proposal, supporting proposal colour team reviews and recovery efforts.
  • Finalize and Publish: Ensure proposal deliverables are finalized and published upon receipt of signatory approvals using Acrobat.
  • Maintain Documentation: Act as the gatekeeper of all documentation prepared by the proposals department, maintaining version control at each iteration, final document release, and archive.
  • Support Growth: Contribute to growth and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.

About You

  • Experience: You have experience in bid writing or editing, ideally in a technical environment.
  • Language Skills: Your written English is excellent. Additional European languages are particularly welcome.
  • Location: You will need to be within a reasonable commute of Burgess Hill, as you will need to be on-site three days a week.
  • Security Clearance: You must be able to obtain or transfer Security Clearance, which the company sponsors. Applicants must have lived continuously in the UK for the past five years to obtain security clearance or currently hold NATO SC level Security Clearance that can be transferred from overseas to the UK.
  • Organizational Skills: You possess strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Team Player: You have a team player attitude with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Initiative: You can work on your own initiative and collaborate effectively with others.
