As the CAM Programming Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the CAM programming operations, leading a team of programmers, and ensuring that CNC machines are efficiently utilized to meet production goals. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to develop innovative solutions for manufacturing processes. Your expertise will drive advancements in CNC programming methods and toolpath optimization to enhance overall productivity.
- Lead and manage a team of CAM programmers, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs for complex components, primarily for 5 Axis Milling Machines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze designs and improve manufacturability.
- Implement and maintain programming standards and processes for the machine shop.
- Conduct toolpath simulations and implement improvements based on performance metrics.
- Focus on continuous improvement initiatives related to CAM processes and machining workflows.
- Oversee documentation processes, ensuring programs and processes are accurately recorded.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CAM Programming Leader or in a similar leadership role within a motorsport or high-performance engineering context.
- Expert knowledge of CAM software, especially HyperMill, with a strong background in CNC programming.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and work holding designed to optimize efficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across teams.
