Overview
We have an opportunity for a Senior Vehicle Performance Engineer join The Cadillac Formula 1 Team at Silverstone. This high-impact role is essential to ensuring our simulation tools accurately reflect real-world performance and to understand how we compare against our competitors. By delivering data-driven insights, you\’ll help shape car setup and development direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead correlation activities between simulation tools and on-track performance
- Analyze race, test and simulator data to refine and validate performance models
- Drive improvements in correlation metrics and data visualisation with the software and simulation teams
- Deliver detailed competitor performance analysis using telemetry, FIA data and onboard video and communicate performance trends effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Translate competitor insights into clear development direction for the wider engineering group and support race weekend operations with correlation checks and performance reviews
- Lead post-event investigations into model deviation and real-world car behaviour
Qualifications
- Experience in top-level motorsport, with a focus on vehicle performance, simulation or data analysis
- Strong track record in correlating simulation tools with real-world performance (aero, tyre, or full-vehicle models)
- Excellent working knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tyre behaviour and simulation theory and proficient in competitor benchmarking using official Formula 1 data, telemetry and video analysis
- Advanced skills in MATLAB, Python, C# or equivalent for technical analysis and tool development
- Familiarity with data systems such as Atlas, RaceWatch, SQL, DataBricks or similar
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary engineering teams and a strong communicator with the ability to clearly present insights to technical and non-technical audiences
