Please Note: This is a Night Shift position working 4 days x 10 hours Monday – Thursday from 5pm – 3:30am.

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Shop Team Leader for the Night Shift to take operational leadership of the overnight machine shop activities. The successful candidate will oversee the machining team during the night hours, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety compliance are consistently met in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

  • Lead and manage the night shift machining team to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
  • Coordinate daily machine shop operations, including setup, machining, inspections, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with day shift and management to ensure smooth handovers and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor machine performance and maintenance requirements, reporting issues promptly.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities and report shift performance metrics.
  • Support process optimization and implementation of best practices within the machine shop.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical problems during the shift to minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a machine shop or manufacturing environment, preferably in motorsport or precision engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, HyperMill would be an advantage.
  • Ability to manage and motivate teams during night shift operations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle operational challenges effectively.
  • Experience with machine shop scheduling and workflow coordination.
  • Proactive approach to team development and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shift work requirements.
