We have an opportunity for a Technical Buyer to join the team at our Silverstone facility. In this role you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality machining components, parts, and materials. You will work closely with suppliers, design teams, technicians and engineers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of purchased goods. - Identify and assess prospective suppliers while maintaining positive relationships with current suppliers, procuring machined parts and materials.
- Analyze market trends and prices to ensure the competitiveness of purchased goods, negotiating the best price of goods with suppliers.
- Work with design teams and engineers to determine material specifications and requirements.
- Ensure the timely delivery of purchased goods within budgeted costs and work with internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding any issues related to supplier quality, delivery, or pricing.
What do we need from you?
- Proven experience in a technical buying role within a similar automotive industry; CIPS qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials; experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing is beneficial.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors and communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors, while working in a fast-paced environment on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Clear and concise communication, positively contributing to an open and inclusive culture.
