Contract Role Cost Analyst

Location: 4-5 days a week in the Silverstone office

IR35: Inside

Length of contract: 6 months

The Cost Analyst plays an important role within the Programme Office at The Cadillac Formula 1 ® Team, providing financial insight and data-driven analysis to support cost-effective delivery of car development activities. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the output of the Cost Analyst’s role will contribute to informed decision-making, improved budgeting accuracy and greater cost predictability.

Key responsibilities:

  • To create an offline, fully costed Bill of Materials for the 2026 Formula 1 ® car, to validate against our ERP system.
  • Compare the BoM cost actuals of launch car spec assemblies against original budget assumptions, to highlight focus points for cost reduction initiatives.
  • Compare cost variances between previous, current and future specification assemblies.
  • Collate in-season Project Actual costs vs Project Estimated costs, to refine the accuracy of budget estimations for future upgrade projects.
  • Weekly reporting of redundant inventory data, to support the Programme Office in maximising the cost efficiency of order strategies for in-season upgrade projects.

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to efficiently process large datasets, build robust formulas and develop structured models that ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrates a strong cost-conscious mindset, continually seeking opportunities to maximise cost efficiency to yield greater performance opportunities for the car.
  • Confident communicator and ability to build relationships, being able to liaise with various functions to challenge the integrity of the data.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Previous exposure to an ERP and PLM system is desirable, but not essential.
