Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and document composite manufacturing processes for F1® structural and non-structural components.
- Optimize manufacturability, cycle time, quality, and scrap across layup, cure, trim, bonding, and assembly.
- Validate new materials, processes, and manufacturing improvements.
- Set up, program, validate, and troubleshoot laser projection systems; drive technician training and repeatability.
- Lead digitalization of composite processes via laser projection, CAD-led workflows, and PLM/MES integration.
- Provide hands-on technical support and collaborate with Design and Performance to ensure DFM without performance compromise.
- Develop and control autoclave cure profiles, vacuum/pressure monitoring, and support non-conformance investigations.
- Specify, review, and support composite tooling, fixtures, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Lead process verification, capability studies, SPC-driven decision making, and continuous lean improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of composite materials, prepreg processes, and autoclave/oven curing.
- Hands-on experience with laser projection systems (setup, programming, calibration).
- Proficient in CAD/PLM environments (CATIA, NX, Teamcenter, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience writing clear, usable manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work to extremely tight deadlines in a fast-paced F1® environment.
- Familiarity with automated cutting systems and laser-ply technologies.
- Understanding of bonded assemblies, metallic inserts, and composite-to-metal joining.
