As our Trainer Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Cadent’s operational colleagues and contractors have the skills, knowledge and competence required to work safely and effectively. This role is about far more than classroom delivery — it’s about providing high-quality technical training, robust assessment and professional judgement that underpins safe network operations.
Working within the HRPS Learning Delivery team, you’ll deliver and assess a wide range of technical and operational training across Cadent’s networks and Skills Development Centres. You’ll support the full employee learning cycle, ensuring mandatory skills and competency requirements are met while maintaining high standards of assurance, consistency and compliance. This role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct, visible impact on safety, capability and performance across the business.

What you’ll bring:
- Technical Expertise – Specialist operational knowledge in one or more areas (e.g. Emergency, Repair, Connections, PC&S, E&I, Pipelines, PT&E).
- Training & Assessment Experience – Experience delivering training, conducting assessments and building assessment portfolios.
- Assessment Qualifications – D32/33 or A1 (NVQ Level 4) and/or a recognised teaching qualification (Level 3).
- Strong Communication Skills – Confident presenter with excellent written and verbal communication ability.
- Judgement & Decision-Making – Confidence making competency decisions and managing assessment outcomes.
- Safety-First Mindset – Strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, codes of practice and statutory requirements.
- Organisation & Flexibility – Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple training and assessment demands.
Additional Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
