As a Lead Gas Engineer within our Energy Operations team, you'll be at the forefront of operating and maintaining pressure‑regulating installations, pipelines, and their associated systems—ensuring they perform flawlessly every day. Our Energy Operations function is a highly capable, multi‑skilled team, meeting the demands of a modern, resilient energy network. Why You'll Love This Role
- Maintain and operate pressure‑regulating installations (up to 85 bar) in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Respond to system‑identified faults within agreed service levels, supporting remote monitoring and PMAC operations.
- Protect Cadent assets by advising third‑party companies, supervising nearby excavations, and responding to sightings of works close to pipelines.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance on pipelines and associated equipment to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
- Perform condition monitoring across pipelines and other critical assets to support safe and reliable network performance.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in gas asset operation and maintenance, with strong Mechanical engineering knowledge (formal qualification desirable).
- Clear, confident communication skills and a consistently strong focus on safety.
- Competent IT skills to support operational and reporting activities.
- Full, valid UK driving licence to travel across operational sites.
- Flexibility to support operational needs, including attending training and participating in standby rotas.
