We are looking for motivated, adaptable individuals to join Cadent as a Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher, you will play a vital role in the fast-paced Dispatch Centre, acting as the central link between engineers, customers, and operational teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that jobs are allocated accurately and efficiently, using both manual and system-driven processes to keep the day running smoothly. You’ll monitor job progress, manage time-sensitive priorities, and provide real-time support to Engineers in the field.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Allocate jobs to engineers manually or through system-driven processes, ensuring all tasks are scheduled and attended on time, adhering to company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with engineers and customers to confirm job status and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Monitor and manage jeopardies (time-sensitive or high-priority jobs) to maintain service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Utilise dispatch systems and tools effectively to optimize resource allocation and job scheduling.
  • Escalate operational issues to Network Supervisors and provide feedback on resourcing or performance challenges.
  • Act as first point of contact for Network Supervisors, escalating operational issues promptly and supporting resilience events when required.

How We’ll Know You’re the Right Fit

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to build strong relationships with engineers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a high volume of calls while remaining calm and professional.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical thinking to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy for precise job allocation and system updates.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn and use dispatch systems efficiently.

How It All Comes Together

  • Hourly Rate - Week 1 - Week 12 £16.35 which includes a 20.8% shift uplift. From week 13 onwards this will change to £16.78 PAYE, paid weekly one week in arrears.
  • Location: Coventry, Ansty Park, CV7 9JU (onsite full time).
  • Start date: 26/05/2026.
  • Assignment type: 12 months ongoing. Temporary worker via Reed, with the opportunity to go permanent in the future.
  • Recruitment process: telephone interview with Reed.
