Champion safety, health, environment and sustainability across major infrastructure projects

As a SHES Advisor at Cadent, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe and sustainable delivery of our Capital Delivery projects. You will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability (SHES), ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting a proactive safety culture across our operations.

Working closely with project teams, contractors and regulatory bodies, you will help embed best practice, support incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement in SHES performance. This is a hybrid role with flexibility, offering the opportunity to influence high-profile infrastructure projects and make a meaningful impact on the safety and wellbeing of our people and the environment.

Skills and Experience

You are a safety-focused professional with a strong understanding of SHES legislation and a passion for promoting a positive safety culture.

  • Qualifications & Experience– NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent), with 3–5 years’ experience in a SHES advisory role.
  • Technical Knowledge– Understanding of CDM, GSMR, PSSR, ISO 14001 and other relevant standards and regulations.
  • Communication Skills– Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and influence others.
  • Analytical Thinking– Experience in incident reporting, risk assessment and performance analysis.
  • Professional Integrity– Commitment to compliance, continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.
