As a Lead Gas Engineer within our Energy Operations team, you'll be at the forefront of operating and maintaining pressure-regulating installations, pipelines, and their associated systems, ensuring they perform flawlessly every day. Our Energy Operations function is a highly capable, multi-skilled team, meeting the demands of a modern, resilient energy network. With new responsibilities emerging around the maintenance of pressure-control assets, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our operations while leading by example in safety, technical excellence, and innovation.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Maintain and operate pressure-regulating installations (up to 85 bar) in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Respond to system-identified faults within agreed service levels, supporting remote monitoring and PMAC operations.
  • Protect Cadent assets by advising third-party companies, supervising nearby excavations, and responding to sightings of works close to pipelines.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance on pipelines and associated equipment to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
  • Perform condition monitoring across pipelines and other critical assets to support safe and reliable network performance.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in gas asset operation and maintenance, with strong Mechanical engineering knowledge (formal qualification desirable).
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a consistently strong focus on safety.
  • Competent IT skills to support operational and reporting activities.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence to travel across operational sites.
  • Flexibility to support operational needs, including attending training and participating in standby rotas.
