We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactiveFinancial Controls Specialistto join our team atAnsty Business Parkon apermanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controls Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a robust internal control environment, supporting compliance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement across Cadent’s financial processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic finance function, with exposure to financial reporting, audit, and wider CFO activities. You’ll work closely with process owners, control owners, and external auditors to ensure our controls are effective, compliant, and future-ready.

  • Controls Testing– Support the design and execution of control testing cycles, including operational effectiveness and compliance reviews.

  • Process Improvement– Identify and promote best practices, supporting improvements in documentation, compliance, and control frameworks.

  • Reporting & Analysis– Prepare detailed reports, maintain documentation repositories, and support the development of performance metrics.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualifications
    • Qualified accountant with a UK-recognised body
  • Experience & Skills
    • Strong background in internal controls testing or regulatory compliance
    • Ability to assess and map business processes and controls
    • Experience with audit processes, risk and control matrices, and test scripts
    • Proficient in Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of tax, company law, and compliance frameworks is a plus
