Powering Progress: Commercial Support for Capital Delivery in Gas. As a Commercial Support professional within Cadent's Capital Delivery team, you will play a key role in supporting cross-functional collaboration and driving operational excellence. This role requires a strong understanding of Cadent's core policies and procedures, as well as the wider gas industry landscape, to ensure that commercial activities align with both internal standards and sector expectations.
You will be responsible for all purchase order and receipting requirements for Capital Delivery gathering and documenting detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring that stakeholder needs are clearly understood and effectively translated into actionable insights. Your ability to communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments will be essential in building trust, addressing uncertainty, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
With a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to interpret data, identify trends, and support informed decision-making. In your role as Commercial Support you will be a key member of a small, hard working team, and your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full lifecycle of purchase order and invoices within Capital Delivery - Oversee the end-to-end process of purchase orders and invoicing within the Capital Delivery function, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and alignment with contract and framework agreements.
- Governance and Reporting Support - Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily / weekly and annual governance reports, as well as daily and weekly reporting on procurement activities, ensuring timely and accurate data for decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication - Lead and support meetings with internal and external stakeholders to resolve purchase order and invoicing related issues, provide training, and communicate the benefits of commercial recommendations across departments.
- Commercial and Contractual Oversight - Review quotations, payments, and claims to ensure compliance with contract terms, including retention and compensation events. Provide analytical challenge to uplift requests and support early payment processes in line with Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Process Improvement and Efficiency - Identify and implement opportunities to streamline commercial processes, enhance data accuracy, and drive efficiencies across procurement and cost control functions.
