As our Trainer Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Cadent’s operational colleagues and contractors have the skills, knowledge and competence required to work safely and effectively. This role is about far more than classroom delivery – it’s about providing high‑quality technical training, robust assessment and professional judgement that underpins safe network operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver practical, technical and operational training courses to Cadent colleagues and contractors.
  • Undertake workplace and centre‑based assessments, making robust judgements on competence.
  • Provide clear feedback, mentoring and development support to candidates.
  • Maintain safe, effective training environments including facilities, tools and equipment.
  • Ensure training and assessment activity meets relevant policies, standards and statutory requirements.
  • Use digital platforms and blended learning approaches to enhance delivery and flexibility.
  • Contribute to training product development, updates and innovative learning solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Specialist operational knowledge in one or more areas (e.g., Emergency, Repair, Connections, PC&S, E&I, Pipelines, PT&E).
  • Experience delivering training, conducting assessments and building assessment portfolios.
  • Assessment qualifications – D32/33 or A1 (NVQ Level 4) and/or a recognised teaching qualification (Level 3).
  • Confident presenter with excellent written and verbal communication ability.
  • Confidence making competency decisions and managing assessment outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, codes of practice and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple training and assessment demands.

  • Full UK driving licence.
