Cadent is rolling out Advanced Leak Detection (ALD) technology across its networks, powered by our Digital Platform for Leakage Analytics (DPLA). Together, these capabilities transform how we identify, understand and respond to methane emissions across our estate. We are looking for a DPLA Engineering Specialist to play a pivotal role in advancing this capability – supporting deployment, enhancing the platform and driving innovation in how we capture and use emissions data. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we detect, analyse and report emissions at scale. You’ll work on the cutting edge of engineering, data and environmental performance, influencing industry standards and helping position Cadent as a leader in emissions transparency and reduction – while delivering meaningful, real-world environmental impact.
Why you’ll love this role:
- Lead ALD rollout – oversee pilots, deployment and embedding of advanced leak detection across Cadent sites
- Develop standards – create clear engineering policies, procedures and technical documentation (G/23, G/19, G/17)
- Own the DPLA platform – manage performance, stability and continuous enhancement in an agile environment
- Drive product development – define requirements, test builds and deliver features from concept to deployment
- Shape emissions reporting – develop and implement industry‑leading methodologies aligned to recognised standards
- Validate performance – track KPIs, oversee probabilistic model validation and drive ongoing improvement
- Lead collaboration – act as Technical Secretary for the DPLA Working Group and influence cross‑network adoption
- Manage stakeholders & suppliers – build strong relationships, support procurement and ensure contract performance
What you’ll bring:
- An Engineering degree or equivalent is required
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes
- Strong background in technical documentation, specifications or standards
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Knowledge of company or regulatory reporting frameworks
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
This role offers the chance to influence how Cadent – and the wider industry – approaches emissions detection and reporting. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, data, technology and sustainability, helping to deliver innovation that truly matters. If you’re ready to drive cutting‑edge capability and shape the future of emissions intelligence, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help build a smarter, cleaner energy network.
