Reed Talent Solutions are working with Cadent Gas on the search for 10 Dispatchers. You’ll join a growing team in a fast-paced Dispatch Centre. You’ll be responsible for the “on day” allocations of jobs either manually or system driven, ensuring jeopardies are managed correctly for all field resources. With training and development, you will become technically competent and will be able to provide an excellent service to both engineers and the public.

What do you need to know about the role?
- Location: Ansty Park - Coventry (onsite full time)
- Contract: Temporary worker via Reed, with the opportunity to go permanent in the future
- Hourly pay rate: ÂŁ15.04 per hour
- Shift: Alternating shift pattern – 6:45am to 2pm, 6:45am to 3pm, 1:45pm to 9pm, and 8am to 6pm shifts – speak with Reed for the pattern
- Training hours: 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm in classroom training.
- Start date: Monday 25th March
- Recruitment process: telephone interview with Reed (competency based and situational based judgement) and 2 x online tests
What does a day in the life of a Dispatcher with Cadent Gas look like?
You’ll be in regular communication with engineers and customers to ensure all jobs are acknowledged and attended by the allocated time and assist with any issues. You’ll ensure jobs are in alignment with the engineers’ schedules for the day. And you’ll be the first point of contact for Network Supervisors and responsible for escalating issues to the relevant supervisor.
What we ask from you?
We are looking for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments where you can use your logical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills to ensure all jobs are attended within the required timeframe. You’ll need to be able to multi-task with data entry and analysis across 2 computer screens and multiple systems, as well as maintaining accurate records. Most importantly, we ask that you are passionate about the safety of your colleagues and your community. We ask that you are comfortable using electronic and paper map systems to support with your knowledge of an allocated region.
