- Set the Strategy: Drive Cadent’s Process Safety vision, leading improvement workstreams and shaping the future of how we manage major accident risk.
- Own the System: Design, develop and continuously enhance our Process Safety Management System – including standards, supplementary documents, Bow Ties and core governance.
- Influence Senior Leaders: Work directly with Directors, Engineering leadership and Board committees to embed strong process safety leadership.
- Embed Safe Working: Partner across Networks, Engineering, Support Teams and Supply Chain to integrate robust safety management into day‑to‑day operations and long‑term planning.
- Develop Capability: Lead campaigns, training, competency development and cultural programmes that strengthen process safety awareness and excellence across the business.
- Provide Expert Insight: Produce high‑quality reports, monthly analysis and executive commentary that guide strategic decisions and drive safety performance.
- Lead Investigations & Improvements: Offer expert technical support on investigations while identifying lessons learned and driving cross‑functional process safety improvements.
- Anticipate and Innovate: Horizon scan for emerging risks and use technology to deepen risk understanding, improve controls and enhance Cadent’s ability to prevent major incidents.
What you will bring:
- Diploma or MSc in Process Safety (or related field)
- NEBOSH Certificate; IOSH Membership (or equivalent)
- Experience with Bow Tie / barrier‑based assessments
- Incident investigation expertise
- Ability to create high‑quality reports and procedures
- Strong senior‑level stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence presenting to senior leaders and governance committees
