Job Responsibilities:
- As the manager for the group, this role will be part of the software rollout and signoff process for each major and minor release, and be responsible for documentation quality and agreeing when the software is ready to release.
- Release collateral β technical documents published when a new software version is released, such as installation guides, technical specification requirements and release notes.
- Work with the Product Engineering Group Director to implement internal processes for increasing efficiency and consistency within the documentation team.
Job Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills β both written and verbal β and able to take complicated technical subjects and explain them simply and clearly.
- Excellent management skills to build, train, motivate and retain a new team.
- Experience of transitioning/off-shoring teams to India.
- Experience working on CAD or physics-based engineering software.
- Working knowledge of document design and layout for print and digital media.
- Experience with Git or similar source control system.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in a technical communications role, with working knowledge of MadCap Flare or another single-sourcing, content management tool.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Previous experience documenting complex software or hardware for diverse audiences.
- Previous experience of JIRA.
- Knowledge of the Agile software development life cycle.
- Knowledge of data centre/electronics systems.
