Job Overview:
Gain hands‑on experience over a 12‑month placement using Cadence’s industry‑leading IC design tools on real‑world engineering challenges. As an Intern you will work on technical design and verification problems across a broad range of disciplines, including:
- Analog design
- Digital design
- Design verification
- Integrated Circuits (IC)
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design
Eligibility & Placement Requirements:
This role is open only to students currently enrolled in a university degree programme. The 12‑month placement must form an assessed or accredited part of the student’s degree (e.g. industrial/ professional placement or year‑in‑industry). Students should be studying a relevant discipline, such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field. The placement is based on‑site in Cambridge, United Kingdom, for the full duration. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom for the full duration of the placement. Where applicable, applicants must hold a valid visa covering the entire 12‑month placement period, with no restrictions that would prevent full‑time employment.
Responsibilities:
You will become an active member of a professional engineering team, contributing to live projects within your assigned business unit. Engage in direct interaction with customers, gaining insight into real customer challenges and requirements. Build strong technical knowledge in electronic design automation (EDA) through practical application of Cadence’s cutting‑edge tools. Take part in structured technical training courses to support continuous learning and development. Experience a fully immersive engineering placement, providing exposure to day‑to‑day work in the semiconductor industry. Learn about the latest technologies, methodologies, and industry challenges through:
