Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will support the delivery of mechanical systems and equipment across a large, complex Nuclear and infrastructure project. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and successful delivery through all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support across design, installation, commissioning, and verification activities.
- Review and validate engineering drawings, specifications, technical calculations, and documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and quality teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and design intent.
- Manage technical interfaces with suppliers and subcontractors, including resolving engineering queries.
- Support risk assessments, engineering change control, and safety reviews.
- Produce and maintain project reports, technical documents, and progress updates.
- Ensure all work is delivered to required safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within the nuclear sector (new build, operational, decommissioning, or related nuclear projects).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment specification, and engineering standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Eligibility to work in the UK; able to meet security or background vetting requirements.
