Caddy Group are looking for an experienced Buyer for our growing Constrcution client in Kent.

  • Support the procurement team with the purchasing of materials, equipment and services across projects.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor orders from placement through to delivery, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, ensuring all purchasing documentation is up to date.
  • Assist with material management and ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and programme dates.

What We’re Looking For

  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships.
  • Previous experience within a buying, procurement or purchasing environment.
  • Experience within the construction, mechanical and electrical trades would be advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial awareness skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Forward-thinking and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • 4+ years' experience in a buying or procurement role.
  • Competent user of standard programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
