Caddy Group are looking for an experienced Buyer for our growing Constrcution client in Kent.
- Support the procurement team with the purchasing of materials, equipment and services across projects.
- Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules.
- Monitor orders from placement through to delivery, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, ensuring all purchasing documentation is up to date.
- Assist with material management and ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and programme dates.
What We’re Looking For
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships.
- Previous experience within a buying, procurement or purchasing environment.
- Experience within the construction, mechanical and electrical trades would be advantageous.
- Strong negotiation and commercial awareness skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Forward-thinking and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- 4+ years' experience in a buying or procurement role.
- Competent user of standard programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
