Mechanical Project Manager Location: Kent (with travel to project sites) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing M&E contractor seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their team in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in Mechanical Building Services to oversee the delivery of projects across the Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Residential and Public Sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical projects from initial planning and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards. Key Responsibilities * Managing mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. * Overseeing mechanical installations, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework and plantroom systems. * Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and site teams. * Managing project programmes, budgets, procurement and resource requirements. * Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing effective solutions. * Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM 2015 and RAMS. * Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation. * Managing commercial activities, including cost control, variations and forecasting. * Attending site meetings and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders. * Overseeing quality control, testing, commissioning and project handover. * Ensuring mechanical installations meet project specifications, industry standards and client expectations. Essential Requirements * Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E, Building Services or Construction. * Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework and mechanical plant installations. * Experience managing mechanical projects from initial planning through to completion. * Good understanding of project programming, procurement and commercial management. * Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications. * Strong knowledge of construction health and safety regulations. * Experience coordinating subcontractors and site-based teams. * Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. * Full UK Driving Licence. * Willingness to travel to various project locations. Desirable Qualifications & Experience HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline. SMSTS qualification. CSCS Card. First Aid at Work. Previous experience working on MOD, Defence, NHS, Education or Public Sector projects. Experience delivering projects within live hospitals, schools or secure environments. Knowledge of HTM guidance, CIBSE, BSRIA and relevant Building Regulations. Experience managing complex mechanical installations, plantroom upgrades or refurbishment projects.
