We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing building engineering contractor based in London.

This is a key leadership role responsible for managing electrical projects from pre-construction through to successful on-site delivery. The successful candidate will be commercially astute, technically strong, and confident overseeing large-scale schemes while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical projects across residential, commercial, and high-end developments (Cat A & Cat B fit-out, Tier 1 and Tier 2 schemes, project values ranging from £100k to £17m).
  • Lead, coordinate, and motivate subcontractors, site teams, supervisors, and project engineers.
  • Oversee pre-construction activities including design review, procurement strategy, cost planning, and programme development.
  • Ensure full compliance with current health & safety legislation and quality standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate electrical packages alongside mechanical services to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, budgets, risk, cost control, and programme milestones.
  • Support wider business objectives through strategic planning, workforce coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised electrical qualifications.
  • ECS JIB Approved Electrician (CSCS Gold Card).
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671 Wiring Regulations).
  • ECS Contract Manager (CSCS Black Card).
  • NVQ Level 6 or Level 7 in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Project Manager or Contracts Manager position, delivering projects up to £17m in value.
  • Experience across high-end residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong understanding of UK health & safety regulations within construction environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of delivery.
