Overview
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor for an experienced No.1 Site Manager to the commercial, education, healthcare and residential sectors on a project based in Didcot. This is a 42-week contract opportunity for a highly capable individual with a proven track record of delivering groundworks packages safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility as the No.1 Site Manager
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and budget
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and company policies
- Coordinate temporary works and ensure compliance with design and safety requirements
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and senior management, providing regular progress updates
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and ensure quality control standards are met
- Identify and resolve any site issues proactively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a No.1 Site Manager
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
- Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification – essential
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage programmes and drive progress on site
- CSCS card (Black or equivalent)
- First Aid qualification (preferred)
About the Role
This is a key leadership position on a significant project, offering the opportunity to work with a well-regarded contractor. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the groundworks package from inception through to completion.
