Our client is experiencing continued growth and has an increasing pipeline of projects, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. The Opportunity As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive and commercially viable tenders across a range of carpentry and joinery projects. You will work closely with clients, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors, using your technical knowledge and commercial understanding to develop detailed estimates and identify opportunities and risks throughout the tender process. This role would suit an experienced Estimator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants the opportunity to have a visible impact within a growing business. Key Responsibilities * Preparing detailed and competitive estimates for carpentry and joinery projects. * Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation. * Carrying out accurate material and labour quantity take-offs. * Pricing labour, materials, plant, subcontractor and associated project costs. * Obtaining, analysing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations. * Identifying commercial risks, exclusions, variations and potential opportunities. * Preparing clear and professional tender submissions. * Managing multiple tenders and ensuring deadlines are consistently met. * Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the estimating process. * Reviewing project information and identifying discrepancies, omissions and potential issues. * Maintaining accurate estimating records and pricing information. * Supporting the commercial and operational teams during project handover. * Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply-chain partners. * Keeping up to date with market conditions, material costs and construction pricing. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have previous estimating experience within carpentry, joinery together with strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. You will ideally have: * Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, carpentry or joinery. * A good understanding of carpentry and joinery methods, materials and associated costs. * Experience pricing construction projects from drawings and specifications. * Strong quantity take-off and cost-estimating skills. * Excellent numerical and analytical abilities. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating software. * A proactive and commercially minded approach. * The confidence to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
