Approved Electrician (Commercial) Location: Hampshire Position: Approved Electrician The Opportunity We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established contractor seeking an experienced Approved Electrician to join their team on a long-term commercial project based in Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrician with a strong commercial installation background who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining excellent health and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of electrical installation, inspection and testing works within a professional and established project team. Please note: Candidates must be able to successfully pass a minimum BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance. Key Responsibilities * Installing commercial electrical systems in accordance with current regulations and project specifications. * Installing containment systems, including cable tray, basket, trunking and conduit. * Installing and terminating SWA and LV cabling. * Carrying out distribution board installations, alterations and upgrades. * Completing power and lighting installations. * Undertaking electrical inspection, testing and certification of completed works. * Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications. * Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. * Working collaboratively with site management and other trades to ensure successful project delivery. * Adhering to strict health, safety and site security procedures. Essential Requirements * JIB Gold Card – Approved Electrician status. * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022). * City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent). * Proven experience working on commercial electrical installations. * Strong knowledge of containment systems, SWA cabling and distribution boards. * Experience in electrical inspection, testing and certification. * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings. * Ability to successfully obtain a minimum BPSS security clearance. * Full UK Driving Licence (preferred). Desirable Experience * Previous experience working on MOD projects, defence, nuclear or other high-security sites. * Existing BPSS, SC or DV security clearance. * Experience delivering electrical installations on large-scale commercial projects.
