We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team due to a number of exciting new projects in Liverpool/Merseyside, Manchester and the wider North West region. What You’ll Do

  • Tendering & Estimating
    • Assist with preparation of tender submissions, including site visits and supporting programme/method statement development.
    • Assess plant requirements, prepare scaffold schedules and draft preliminaries.
    • Liaise with major suppliers, statutory bodies and partners to inform submissions.
    • Evaluate safety/environmental risks and ensure correct allocation.
    • Review tender clarifications and ensure exclusions and high-risk items are captured.
  • Pre-Construction
    • Support creation of the contract programme with the planner.
    • Prepare and implement key project documents including H&S, Environmental and Quality Plans.
    • Support Design Management and Commercial teams with schedules and procurement planning.
    • Arrange site possession, statutory notifications and required documentation (e.g. dilapidations, F10).
    • Agree preliminary expenditure such as plant and accommodation.
  • Construction Phase
    • Lead safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of allocated projects.
    • Plan, coordinate and control all site activities and manage subcontractors and resources.
    • Monitor and update project programmes, taking corrective action when required.
    • Work closely with commercial teams on cost control, forecasting and procurement.
    • Manage project information flow, design queries and buildability checks.
    • Chair and attend project, design, production and subcontractor meetings.
    • Ensure contractual compliance, notices, extensions of time and risk management.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
    • Produce accurate progress, performance and cost reports.
    • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
    • Manage handover, completion and defects to achieve PC and MGD efficiently.
    • Promote best practice, site standards and continuous improvement.
  • Post-Construction
    • Manage defects, rectify items and secure the Certificate of Making Good Defects.
    • Support preparation of Loss & Expense claims and Final Account information.
    • Ensure completion and issue of O&M Manuals and Homeowner Packs (where applicable).
  • Health & Safety
    • Understand and implement company Health & Safety policies and legal requirements.
    • Ensure tenders and budgets include safe working methods and welfare provisions.
    • Plan and implement adequate H&S measures throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Coordinate with the H&S Manager and ensure accurate reporting.
    • Oversee method statements, risk assessments and weekly safety reviews.
    • Monitor site safety, rectify issues and act on H&S recommendations.
    • Lead by example regarding PPE and safe behaviour on site.
    • Ensure qualified Temporary Works Coordinators are appointed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in the management of large-scale construction projects and multi-disciplinary construction teams.
  • Experience of managing complex projects.
  • Sound knowledge of construction delivery within specialised industrial sectors including commercial, industrial, multi-room/residential, etc.
  • Previous experience in promoting and ensuring exemplary standards of health and safety on large-scale construction projects.
  • A multi-skilled trade background or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerproject.
  • CSCS Managers Card (Black).
  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
  • First Aid Certificate.

  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and have a good level of knowledge of health and safety practices and legislation.
