Caddick Construction is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our Preconstruction and Operations team in the Midlands. This is a key role where you’ll support project teams, drive programme performance, and help shape strategic planning across multiple projects and frameworks. You'll bring a strong understanding of construction planning, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate resources across a busy regional portfolio.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning strategy for live and preconstruction projects across the Midlands region.
- Develop and manage fully integrated, logic-linked programmes using Asta Powerproject, covering design, procurement, consents, and construction.
- Provide strategic input during tender stage and support bid submissions with robust programme solutions.
- Monitor and review live project progress, identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
- Attend monthly contract reviews, providing critical path insight and programme analysis.
- Oversee the regional resource demand plan in collaboration with department leads and Talent Acquisition.
- Support project teams with logistics planning and collaborative planning workshops.
- Lead on programme compliance, ensuring audit standards and planning processes are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate benchmarking and construction output data to support reliable programming.
- Contribute to claims and delay analysis by providing robust cause and effect programme evidence.
- Promote Lean construction and best practice planning techniques across the region.
- Provide line management for regional planning team members, including training and development via PDRs.
- Represent planning in senior leadership, SHEQ, and operational meetings within the region.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in construction project planning, ideally with 10+ years’ experience.
- Proven leadership within a regional or multi-project capacity.
- Skilled in developing detailed programmes at both preconstruction and delivery stages.
- Experience using Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, MS Excel, and 4D BIM planning tools.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies across a range of sectors.
- Experience producing logistics plans and method statements.
- Strong understanding of risk and opportunity management within a planning context.
- Comfortable working across NEC, JCT and other standard forms of contract.
- Awareness of Lean construction principles and practical application.
