We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Planner to join our Midlands region, based out of our Birmingham office. In this role, you will work closely with project teams to develop, monitor, and manage project schedules. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow their planning expertise while contributing to the successful delivery of a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including Design Deliverable Programmes, Procurement Programmes, and Commissioning and Completion Programmes. Support critical path analysis to ensure project timelines are met. Review tender/construction drawings, specifications, and bills to contribute to robust build sequences.
  • Programme Development and Coordination: Help create integrated Project Programmes that measure progress across all project stages. Contribute to the development of Information Required and Procurement Schedules. Review subcontractor programmes and assist in ensuring alignment with overarching Project Programmes.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with on-site project delivery teams to support project goals and meet business unit targets. Provide consistent and reliable programme data to the Project Management team. Assist in preparing and delivering reports, including updates on critical paths and rescheduled activities.
  • Risk Identification and Problem-Solving: Support the identification of potential issues with project plans and assist in proposing solutions to mitigate impact. Help challenge proposed changes to ensure project objectives are not compromised.

  • Supporting project teams with planning systems and processes.
  • Contributing to the delivery of accurate and reliable project schedules.
  • Assisting in the provision of detailed planning insights to Project Management teams.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Some experience in a planning role within the construction industry or relevant exposure to project planning activities.
  • Basic knowledge of project planning systems and tools, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in relevant planning software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eagerness to grow in a planning role.
