We are seeking an experienced Finishes Manager to join our team to deliver a high-rise residential project in Birmingham city centre. What You’ll Do

  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Management Systems and Policies for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental.
  • Take responsibility for the management and delivery of all internal and external finishes packages for the duration of the contract period.
  • Be responsible and accountable for health and safety within the finishing phases of the works, providing leadership to subcontractors and the wider site team.
  • Take responsibility for the finishes programme, ensuring works are delivered in line with the overall construction programme and key handover milestones.
  • Develop, manage and implement short-term and target programmes for finishing trades, ensuring coordination and sequencing is maintained.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks associated with finishing works, quality standards and programme constraints.
  • Work closely with the Site Manager, Design Manager and Project Quantity Surveyor to coordinate design information, procurement and delivery of finishes packages.
  • Hold regular meetings with finishing subcontractors to review Health & Safety, Quality, Programme and Environmental performance.
  • Ensure quality inspections are completed, snagging is effectively managed and all works meet specification, drawings and employer’s requirements.
  • Drive a right-first-time approach to reduce rework and support timely project completion.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of mock-ups, sample approvals and benchmark quality standards.
  • Liaise closely with the Aftercare Manager to ensure high-quality handover and minimal defects at completion.
  • Attend client, design team and internal progress meetings and present reports as required.
  • Support compliance with the Quality Management System and action any findings or improvement actions.
  • Co-operate with the Environmental Manager to ensure finishing works comply with the Environmental Management System.
  • Attend training courses as requested by the SHEQ/HR Departments.
  • Co-operate with the SHEQ/HR Departments to support training and development of site personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain Manager and provide regular feedback on subcontractor performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction finishing trades, quality standards and sequencing.
  • Proven experience managing finishes on high-rise residential or complex multi-unit developments.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice within finishing phases.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, quality inspections, snagging and handover processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and coordinate design information.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple work fronts.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • CSCS Card.
  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable).
