We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to support delivery of high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across our projects in the North West. The role works closely with operational teams, senior management, clients and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, promote best practice and drive continuous improvement in line with the Caddick Group business plan.
What You’ll Do
- Health, Safety & Environmental Management
- Implement and maintain the Caddick Group Health, Safety and Environmental Management System across regional projects.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across all levels of the business.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015.
- Support project teams to deliver construction activities safely across all phases of project delivery.
- Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of HSE policies, procedures and systems, including ISO 45001 compliance.
- Monitoring, Reporting & Performance
- Regularly visit live projects to monitor performance, validate compliance and support site teams.
- Report HSE performance to the Head of SHEQ and Regional Director using meaningful data and performance analytics.
- Support accident, incident and near‑miss investigations, including liaison with statutory authorities where required.
- Prepare reports and recommendations following incidents and audits.
- Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Regional Directors, Project Teams and the wider SHEQ function to achieve consistent HSE outcomes.
- Support work‑winning activities by contributing to tender submissions and attending client interviews where required.
- Assist in delivering internal health and safety training and awareness initiatives.
- Support occupational health programmes relevant to construction activities.
- Share lessons learned across projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental management role within the construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, temporary works and site operations.
- Experience operating and maintaining health and safety management systems within a main contractor environment.
- Experience investigating incidents and preparing formal reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, management and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to sites across the region as required.
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Diploma or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards).
- Degree or relevant qualification in construction management or a related discipline (desirable).
