What You’ll Do

  • Liaise with the Operations Director and site team to ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Ensure project forecast handover dates are realistic and communicated effectively to the Contract Manager.
  • Have strong knowledge of contractual obligations for the specific project.
  • Participate in and provide updates for regular cost review meetings with the site teams.
  • Prepare and maintain the project-specific quality plan, ensuring it is fully implemented by all members of the site team.
  • Champion the highest standards of safety and quality at all times.
  • Ensure no defects are evident at practical completion and maintain a robust snagging regime, especially at handover.
  • Manage all aspects of construction programmes, schedules, and trackers.
  • Deputise for the Operations Director at site meetings as required.
  • Develop strong working relationships with site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the site is compliant with health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
  • Manage and mentor the Site Team.
  • Assist the Commercial team regarding any legal, contract, or insurance issues.
  • Liaise with the Social Value Manager where applicable to support client commitments.
  • Any other reasonable duties necessary to contribute to the effectiveness of the company and keep management regularly informed.

What We’re Looking For

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects and multi-disciplinary construction teams. Experience in the Residential/Multiroom sector is ideal but not essential.
  • Experience promoting and ensuring exemplary health and safety standards on large-scale construction projects.
  • Technical knowledge of construction build processes and defects.
  • Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management, and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting.
  • Experience managing Industrial and/or Commercial Projects up to £30 Million.
  • A multi-skilled trade background or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Project scheduling tools.
  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • First Aid Certificate.

  • Excellent communication, people and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and mentor.
  • Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusion.
